Built on Compassion. Driven by Purpose.
The John and Prisca Foundation was born from a shared belief that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive. John and Prisca Chimphamba have dedicated over 40 years to serving communities through the health sector, guided by compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable people. Alongside their professional careers, they have quietly supported individuals and families through private acts of charity, offering care, mentorship, financial assistance, and hope to those in need. Inspired by a lifelong passion for service, they established the John and Prisca Foundation to expand this legacy by empowering communities through health, education, social welfare, and sustainable livelihoods. Rooted in the African philosophy of Ubuntu—”I am because we are”—the Foundation embodies their values of love, generosity, and collective responsibility, working to build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities for generations to come.

What Drives Us
Our Mission
To improve the quality of life for vulnerable and marginalized communities through sustainable development, by promoting access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities that foster self-reliance and long-term empowerment.
Our Vision
To see empowered communities where poverty, unemployment, inequality, poor health, and limited access to education are replaced by opportunity, knowledge, well-being, self-sufficiency, and sustainable development for all.
Our Approach
Everything we do is grounded in research and starts with the people closest to the challenge. We measure what matters and publish what we find.
The Principles We Work By
Compassion
We are guided by a deep sense of care and empathy for others, especially those who are vulnerable. Compassion drives us to respond to human need with kindness, dignity, and understanding. We believe that every act of care, no matter how small, has the power to restore hope and improve lives.
Service
We exist to serve others selflessly and consistently. Inspired by the lifelong dedication of our founders, we prioritize the needs of communities above personal gain. Service means taking action where it is needed most and committing ourselves to improving the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Integrity
We uphold honesty, transparency, and accountability in everything we do. Integrity ensures that our actions reflect our values and that resources entrusted to us are used responsibly and ethically. We are committed to building trust with the people and communities we serve.
Community (Ubuntu)
We believe in the African philosophy of Ubuntu “I am because we are.” Our strength lies in unity, collaboration, and shared responsibility. We work to uplift communities by empowering people to support one another, recognizing that sustainable change happens when we grow together.
